Black and white printout rates

All rates below are for clean, text-based PDF files printed on 70 GSM imported A4 paper. A page means one printed side, so 1000 pages printed front and back uses 500 sheets of paper.

Binding and courier charges

Printing is only half the job. Binding has no minimum — even a single copy is bound.

Twelve ways to cut your printing bill

• Print front-back. It halves the paper, halves the courier weight and drops you into a cheaper slab faster.
• Pool orders with classmates. Four people at 300 pages each cross 1000 pages, and everyone pays ₹0.50 instead of ₹0.80.
• Send PDF, not screenshots or photos of pages — image files print soft and often cost more.
• Check that printing is allowed in the PDF before sending. Locked files waste a day.
• Delete blank pages, cover slides and duplicate chapters. You pay per side, so every removed page is money back.
• Reduce oversized margins first. Notes typeset for the screen often waste a third of every page.
• Separate the colour pages out of a mixed document and print only those in colour — on a typical textbook this alone saves close to half the bill.
• Merge many small files into one PDF. It avoids mix-ups, and files under 20 pages are charged ₹1.00 a side.
• If a scan looks grey or patchy, find a clean digital copy. Heavy ink coverage changes the rate.
• Stick to 70 GSM for reading copies. Save 80 or 100 GSM for what you submit or hand over.
• Choose spiral for study material — it lies flat, costs ₹30 to ₹50 and survives a full semester.
• Place the whole semester's printing in one order. One courier charge instead of four.

Terms, payment and what we need from you

1. Published rates are for clean, text-based PDF files. Scanned pages, backgrounds, shadows and heavy ink coverage are quoted after we open the file.
2. PDF only. We do not accept Word, PowerPoint, image or ZIP files for printing.
3. Make sure printing is allowed in the PDF. Password-protected and print-restricted files cannot be processed.
4. A file containing fewer than 20 pages is charged ₹1.00 per side, regardless of your total order size.
5. We print through automated software, so selecting or skipping individual pages inside a PDF is not possible. Send the file exactly as you want it printed.
6. Pages with a full background or reverse matter — white text on a dark fill — are not supported by the black and white machines.
7. Payment: 50% advance to start the job. When it is finished we send photos of your material, the balance is paid at that point, and the order is dispatched.
8. Courier is extra on every black and white order and is confirmed in writing before payment.
9. This is a bulk printing service. A minimum charge of ₹100 applies to orders under 100 pages.
10. Walking in? Bring every file in a single folder, ready to print. Editing and hunting for files at the counter is not possible during working hours.

Frequently asked questions

Is bulk printing cheaper than photocopying or buying a printer?

Yes. For anything above a few hundred pages, bulk laser printing from a PDF is the cheapest of the three options in India, and it is the only one that scales to thousands of pages without your time going into it. Here is the comparison for a 1000-page front-back job on A4.

Printing terms explained

The words that appear on every printing quote in India, in plain language.

Page vs sheet

A page means one printed side. A sheet is one piece of paper, which holds two pages when printed front and back. 1000 pages printed front-back uses 500 sheets.

GSM

Grams per square metre — the weight of the paper. 70 GSM is standard for notes and study material, 80 GSM is crisper with no show-through, and 100 GSM feels close to card and is used for submission copies.

Front-back or duplex printing

Printing on both sides of the sheet automatically. It halves the paper used, halves the courier weight and reaches the cheaper quantity slabs faster, which is why it is always the cheaper option.

Powder toner vs inkjet

Laser machines fuse powder toner onto the paper, so the text does not fade, smudge or run if the page gets damp. Inkjet printers spray liquid ink, which does. All printing here is laser at 600 DPI.

Spiral binding

A plastic coil through punched holes. The book lies flat while you read or write, which is why it suits study material. Priced by thickness: ₹30 up to 50 sheets, ₹40 for 51–200 and ₹50 for 201–275 sheets.

Centre pinning

Sheets folded and pinned through the middle fold, used for booklets under 80 pages. Priced per book, from ₹30 to ₹50 depending on quantity.

Perfect binding

Pages glued into a wrap-around cover with a flat spine, like a paperback. The cover is 300 GSM with gloss or matte lamination. Minimum 7 working days.

Hard or case binding

A rigid board cover, used for thesis copies and library submissions. Also a minimum of 7 working days.

Reverse matter

White text printed on a dark or black fill. It uses enormous amounts of toner and is not supported by the black and white machines, so those pages need redesigning before printing.
