What this calculator actually does
Most print quotes take a phone call and a wait. This one takes a few seconds. Drop in your PDF and the page count is read straight out of the file, so there is nothing to count by hand and nothing to get wrong. If the file isn’t ready, type the page total instead.
From there it applies three things: the per-side rate for your volume, the spiral binding cost for each book, and the courier charge based on weight and whether you are in Mumbai and Thane or elsewhere in India. The result is the number you would actually pay, not a starting price.
The page counting runs entirely inside your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to us or to anyone else, which is why the tool also works for confidential material like case files, unpublished manuscripts and internal reports.
How bulk printing cost is worked out in India
Three components make up any bulk print bill:
- Printing — total sides multiplied by the rate for your volume band, from ₹1.00 a side under 100 pages down to ₹0.50 a side at 1000 pages and above. Scanned and image-heavy pages sit a few paise higher because they use more toner.
- Binding — ₹30 to ₹50 a spiral depending on thickness. One spiral takes up to 550 pages, so a thick set becomes two or more books.
- Courier — charged by weight, at roughly 395 pages to the kilo. Mumbai and Thane is ₹50 a kg. Elsewhere in India it is ₹120 for the first kg up to 2 kg, then ₹60 for each kg after that.
A worked example: 500 pages printed front and back at the ₹0.70 band is ₹350 of printing, plus ₹50 for a spiral, plus courier — delivered anywhere in India for well under ₹500. Run your own numbers in the calculator above.
Two things catch people out. First, the volume band counts black and white pages only — if your file is mixed, separate the colour pages first. Second, a file of 20 pages or fewer is charged at ₹1.00 a side no matter how big the rest of the order is, so it is worth merging small files into one PDF before sending.
